To WOW people in a way that impacts our community

In these pages, you will find the six core values that define what we want Delaware Garage Doors to be about. We know that as our company continues to grow, it's so important to have a driving force behind everything we do. We've defined this driving force through our core values.

Core Values

1. Deliver WOW.
2. Listen they know you care.
3, We will lead the industry by changing the industry. Always be on the lookout for ways to make us better.
4. What's not growing is dying, Where are you growing today?
5. EQ.--a better you Be honest, humble, and self-aware.
6. Fun is contagious. Your job is to spread it around.
Ideally, we want our values to be reflected in everything we do, including how we interact with our customers, our vendors, and each other. We recognize that this is going to take a lot of work on all our parts, but we are willing to do it and hope you are too. It will take a while for our values to affect how we think, act, and communicate, but it can happen. Change is a constant in any business, but the one thing we don't want to change is our core values. Because this is our first time putting our core values out there in print, there may be some additions or changes over the next year or so, but. the framework for these will stay the same.
As you all read through these values, we want to encourage you to evaluate everything that is currently being done here and ask yourself, "What can we do to make this fit more closely with our values?" Don't be afraid to question anything and everything and help us come up with a solution to make our company the best it can be.

Core Values

Deliver WOW.

Everything we do begins and ends with one simple word: WOW. We wow our customers, our coworkers, our vendors, and everyone else we come in contact with. We don't just try to be good at our job, because anyone can do that. Instead, we try to be excellent. Excellent in the way we fix garage doors, excellent in the way we answer the phones. No one is exempt from this.
We strive to be the best we can be in everything we do. We promise our customers that when they call us, we fix it right the first time, and we do everything in our power to keep that promise.
We come up with creative ways to make our customers say "WOW' every chance we get. We understand that when people feel like you care about them, they're going to tell their friends, and that gives us even more opportunities to make an impact in our community.

Check Yourself:

• Have you WOWed at least one person today?
• What are things you can improve upon in your work or attitude to WOW more people?
• How many promises did you keep today? How many of our team's promises did you keep?
• Are your customers actively sharing their Delaware Express Garage Doors story with others?
• How are you presenting yourself through the way you look and interact with those around you? Are you WOWing people through the way you maintain and keep up on your personal belongings and workspace?

Listen 'til they know you care.

More important than being in the garage door business, we are in the people business. We make new friends. We go out of our way to let the people around us know how much we care. In doing this, we make everyone feel like they matter.
We slow down and listen to those we come in contact with- our customers, co-workers, and vendors. We believe everyone is important, so we give our very best to them each day.
We do all this because we try hard to care about others as we do ourselves, and that is what sets us apart. We know what it's like to need a repairman to come to our home, how uncertain a customer feels, so we always attempt to give a better experience than we ourselves have had.
We strive to create an environment where people can trust each other. The speed of trust allows great things to be accomplished within our organization. We value our word- do what we say, say what we do- because one of the hardest things to do is build trust, but it's so easy to lose. We understand how we make people feel matters, so we make all we come in contact with the most important person in our life in that moment.
We see the good in others and do whatever we can to bring it out in them. We listen to each other even when we are busy. We make a conscious effort to put the team's needs above our own.

Check Yourself:

• What are you doing to improve your listening skills?
• Did you show at least one person that you cared today?

We will lead the industry by changing the industry! Always be on the lookout for ways to make us better.

It's easy to do things the way you've always done them, but that's not what makes us better. We don't continue to do things just because it's easier. Instead, we're courageous enough to create something new, even if we are not sure it will "work."
We're constantly on the lookout for better ways to do our jobs. We find new ways to lead those around us and connect with our customers. We know we will never completely "arrive," so we are always trying to get better. We consistently evaluate what we're doing and why we do it that way, so we can create an environment of constant innovation. Our goal is to stay at least one step ahead of our competition, and this is how we do it.
We believe everyone has something to create, so we encourage our organization to do just that. We don't use explanations to make change happen, but we change first and then explain it. We understand this means we will sometimes fail, but that doesn't scare us away from trying. We choose each day to be brave enough to learn from our failures.

Check Yourself:

• Do you accept things just because it's the way it's always been? Or do you question the status quo and come up with a new course of action?
• Do you sit idly back when you see someone doing something that isn't great or do you stop them and coach them to be better?
• Do you intentionally seek out constructive feedback on your performance? • Did you ask a customer what was one thing you could have done to improve their experience?

What's not growing is dying! Where are you growing today?

We believe the best way for us to succeed- in life and in business- is to constantly be growing and learning. We do this because we know there will always be someone out there who is doing it better than we are. We don't think we have all the answers, but we do everything we can in order to figure them out.
We take the initiative to shape ourselves into better, happier, and healthier people and team members. We're willing to read, listen to, or watch anything that inspires and teaches us to be the best we can be. And we don't just stop there. We pass what we learn on to others, ensuring this attitude of growth is everywhere in our organization.

Check Yourself:

• What have you read, listened to, or watched lately that has helped you grow?
• What is one thing you've learned today?
• Are you a better person today than you were yesterday?
• Do you know what areas you need to grow in?
• What have you done to help your co workers grow?
• Do you have a vision for your life? Do you know where you're going?

EQ=A better you. Be honest, humble, and r: self-aware.

We value strong relationships in every area- our co-workers, managers, customers, vendors, and direct reports. We know the best way to develop solid relationships is learning to communicate openly and honestly with each other. It's important to act with deep integrity in our relationships- to be honest, humble and self-aware.
We remind ourselves to be humble enough to admit when we are wrong, and we do whatever we need to in order to make things right when we make mistakes.
We believe a better you ultimately leads to a better us. We take responsibility for our own actions and don't try to shift the blame. We're humble enough to admit when we're wrong and are never arrogant when we get something right. Instead, we carry ourselves with a quiet confidence because we believe our character will speak for itself.

Check Yourself:

• Are you aware of how your actions affect those around you? If not, are you brave enough to ask?
• How much do people enjoy working with you?
• How can you make your relationships more honest? Are you humble when talking about your accomplishments?
• Do you consistently treat your co workers and our vendors like customers?
• Can you admit when you're wrong and know how and when to apologize?

Fun is contagious. Your job is to spread it around.

At Delaware Express Garage Doors, we want to like the people we work with. On average, you spend over 2,000 hours with your co-workers, so why not have a little fun in the process? We think life can get pretty serious and we all make mistakes, so it's important that we don't take ourselves too seriously. We work hard so we can play hard, and we laugh at ourselves whenever we can.
When we find ways to be infectious and create a little weirdness, people feel better about themselves, and when people feel better about themselves, they're able to do their best.
Fun is contagious, so we're constantly looking for new ways to bring energy to the workplace and be a positive influence on the people around us. Sometimes we play pranks or take a YouTube break in the middle of the day, and you know what... that's okay. If you have the uncanny ability to tell a good joke, that's just a bonus.

Check Yourself:

• How much fun do you have in your job, and what can you do to make it more fun?
• What can you do to make your co-workers' jobs fun as well?
• How can you build stronger relationships with your team members both inside and outside the office?
